We are paid by our vendor partners when a sale is complete, however our fees are a bit different to the usual real estate commission. With property referrals, if you are a mortgage adviser (NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) - Residential Property Lending) you can refer to a property consultant/real estate agent. With your client's permission you can share their contact details and objective property criteria i.e. budget, location, purpose etc. You cannot give personalised, time-specific investment advice with regards to property. You can only advise on suitability with regards to the lending and affordability.
However, if you are an Investment Adviser (NZ Certificate in Financial Services (Level 5) - Investment Strand) you can refer to a property consultant/real estate agent and you can advise your client with regards to the suitability of any property in relation to their personal situation and how it may help them reach their predefined financial goals.
